The Tribeca Jazz Institute & Academy at Church Street School was created by top NYC jazz artists for exceptional young musicians whose goal is to take their playing to the next level. 

We teach jazz as a language passed down directly from one generation to the next, focusing only on what’s necessary to become the best jazz musician you can be. This streamlined program takes advantage of the most pivotal years of an emerging professional’s life through intensive 12-week cycles that focus on private instruction and mentorship and sessions led by, and played with, the city’s top pros.  

We believe in the incalculable value of this art form. We also believe a young artist should not be saddled with the often insurmountable debt that comes with earning a jazz performance degree at any major university today. Our program is selective, affordable, and effective.

• Keep costs low by helping to support operating and teaching costs; or

• Be restricted to a general scholarship fund, or help fund two scholarships named for Lucio Tomasi (Tribeca Jazz Institute Alumnus) and Ken Peplowski (Tribeca Jazz Institute Faculty Member) depending on how you designate your gift.
