Support Katmai National Park and Preserve’s brown bears and salmon by donating to Katmai Conservancy’s Otis Fund. All donations to the Otis Fund will be generously matched by our friends at explore.org from now until our Fat Bear Fundraiser Celebration on October 4th!

An annual online fundraiser taking place during Fat Bear Week, the Otis Fund - named after beloved bear #480 “Otis” - allows Katmai Conservancy to continue to provide critical support for Katmai National Park and Preserve.

Katmai National Park and Preserve spans over 4 million acres, making it the fourth largest National Park in the United States. With rich coastal and river ecosystems, diverse wildlife, and dramatic mountains and volcanoes, Katmai is a true national treasure. Yet despite its size and importance, it remains one of our least funded Parks.

Donations allow us to provide critical support for Park staff and infrastructure, as well as funding for research on Katmai’s wildlife, lands, water, and extensive human history. Other initiatives include promoting youth engagement and supporting education and interpretation, both within and outside of the Park.

Each of these efforts enhances the visitor experience while safeguarding Katmai’s extraordinary landscapes and communities. With your support, we can continue to make a lasting difference.

Thank you for helping us keep Katmai wild.

P.S. - Be sure to join us on October 4th at 4 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. AK for our annual online Fat Bear Fundraiser Celebration. Tune in to explore.org’s Brooks Live Events channel as we honor this year’s Fat Bear Week champion and explore the vital work of Katmai Conservancy in supporting Katmai National Park and Preserve.
