Raising the Quality of Education in Rural Areas
Project-Based Learning is one of the most significant initiatives of the GuateMaya Alliance. It effectively transforms the quality of education and fosters leadership in educational innovation. This approach moves away from traditional teaching methods and embraces a more action-oriented strategy. PBL aligns closely with the historic Maya ancestral learning process.
Instead of concentrating solely on textbook knowledge, students are encouraged to develop essential life skills by engaging with real-world situations in their environment. In this context, competencies are viewed as tools for facing life. Thus, preparing for life necessitates a teaching approach that employs a variety of complementary strategies and methods, such as simulations, case studies, and problem-solving activities.
