Atlanta Lab Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit (501-c3) organization, whose mission is to identify and rescue Labrador Retrievers and large breed mixes from overwhelmed shelters, and situations of abuse and neglect, and place them in secure, loving homes. We average 45 dogs in the program at any given time and in our first 18 years, we have rescued over 6,800 dogs.
Prior to an Atlanta Lab Rescue dog being adopted, each dog undergoes an extensive examination by our veterinarians, which includes a comprehensive blood profile, vaccinations, spay or neuter, and microchip. Health issues that require additional treatment such as heartworms, and surgery, are addressed prior to adoption. We also offer training help for dogs with behavioral issues.
At Atlanta Lab Rescue, we believe that a healthy, well- trained dog is the key to the successful integration of a rescued dog, and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.
Last year, our cost to vet and board exceeded $850,000. Atlanta Lab Rescue is a registered non-profit and 100% of donations go to the rescue, housing, training and care of these dogs
